What Viewers thought of week 5 on Survivor China
You have just lost me as a viewer. Tonight you ruined the show. By putting the 4 strongest people on the chopping block you are telling us that it is not the best survivor that should win but a weak person who rides the coatale of other people. What were you thinking when you decided to exchange the two strongest people of a tribe. Why do you think we watched the show to see stupid, lazy people win a million dollars. Two years ago a man who actually deserved to win survivor won because he was intellegent, strong, and knew how to win the game. That was the best year you had. I have no desire to watch this show ever again after tonights production. I hope a lot of other people express their feelings about this. I was hoping that at tribal council you would redeem your choice and s ay they were not allowed to vote out either of the new people on their tribe. That would have been a neat twist. Thanks for ruining the game. - Laura
Tonight’s show is a disgrace to game players everywhere! To put those four people to such a definite disadvantage just for the hec of it is dumb. What in the world was the strategy for that move? To aggravate viewers? That’s the only possible reason we can come up with. Nothing else makes sense. We knew right away that James and Aaron were gonners but we didn’t know just what scabs they were up against. This may be the last survivor show we watch. It was that bad. - Frances

CBS you really lost the vote with us, not only must those wanting to win Survivor out wit, out play and out last each other; now look out for stupid moves by CBS producers.
October 18th, 2007 at 9:57 pmAnd what’s up with the new duds? Yes we noticed and no, it’s not cool. In a game where each and every luxury comes at a price, new shoes, and swim suits. CBS needs to think about what they are doing BEFORE they do it. So now: “the tribe has spoken!”
I totally agree with you. The show is lowering itself further down the dirt by showing more of deceitfulness, lack of team spirit, and throwing a dash of “Fear Factor” gross challenges. I no longer need to stay tuned to watch the weak, meak, freaks trying to win the next Survivor.
October 18th, 2007 at 11:42 pmI thought that was so wrong what they did last night, and the tables should have been turned on them last night. I think that they shouldn’t have been able to vote on Aaron or James or the other two on the other tribe. That way one of them would have been voted out. It would have taught them a lesson, you don’t lose on purpose. I was very unhappy about that.I don’t know if I want to see who wins or not anymore
October 19th, 2007 at 9:13 amIt is so interesting to learn that two other people were significantly angered by last night’s “finale” and I wholeheartedly agree with both. Over the past several years, I planned my week around “Survivor”, and in a curious way, what the developers of this once good show implemented last night may have done me a favor. Not ever tuning in each week will allow me to be even more productive. I have no interest in viewing the rediculous antics of the two laughing hyenas, who in their hysterics looked like the disgusting animals they chose to portray. As far as I am concerned and my circle of friends, “Survivor” is history.
October 19th, 2007 at 9:35 amI disagree. I like that it’s not scripted and they keep trying to change things up. If you’ve watched the show in the past, it certainly does not come down to the physically, mentally or charismatically strongest person. You have to play the Survivor game to win. It helps if you’re strong and smart. It helps if you’re charismatic, but to a certain degree, it’s all about where you choose and when you choose to show your strengths. Aaron was a good guy, strong competitor, and it would be very easy to see him go all the way if the show went the traditional route. But it didn’t. Like life, the show threw everyone a curveball.
On the other hand, the rest of that tribe is retarded. You vote off your strongest players now, when you go into the merge, you will suffer the numbers game. Do you really think, if your two folks are still there, they won’t have formed their own alliances? And once it’s individual, team crap is gone gone gone.
October 19th, 2007 at 12:06 pmWhat an interesting delema. Too strong and intelegent players on the chopping block. The little panzies laughing and not even trying. Surely Jim and Aaron could have used a little more communication with the other guy to get rid of some fluff but they didn’t. And Aaron in the end turned against James. I was glad when he got voted off. Real good guys stick together and I loved James’s work ethic. He has his job cut out for him in the next three days. Should he do anyhthing to help out? I hope he destroys the food and see if the girls can make fire, always remembering that I promise to pigs often gets trampled in foder.
October 19th, 2007 at 12:08 pmIs really a shame that the ones that really work hard, try to win, and love the game are not the ones that are SUPPOSE to win? I don’t get it… the point of winning the game is DESERVING to win the game, by working hard, learning the strengths and being a team player til the end.
October 19th, 2007 at 12:13 pmLast nights episode was totally disgusting. There was no skill or fairness involved just underhandedness. The women that lost the challenge on purpose should have been disqualified from voting and hopefully been voted off. The show is not fun to watch any longer.
October 19th, 2007 at 7:01 pmThe show was a disappointment. I wish that one of the girls would have been shipped off. People like that do not deserve to win anything. I only hope the show will now switch the players back so James will be safe. Also, I was REALLY disappointed in Aaron, what a turncoat. It really made him look bad when he was the only one to vote for James. I hope that who ever wins, really worked to do it and not just ride in on another person.
October 19th, 2007 at 8:54 pmI think it is a really brilliant tactic from Zhan Hu.
October 20th, 2007 at 3:31 amI hope there will be more twist to this and can’t wait to watch the next episode. The producer should not make it too easy for this tactic to work, as anybody could have thought about it before.
That episode was bad! I thought it was soo stupid to take the two stronger people on the chopping block.Bad move, CBS!
October 20th, 2007 at 12:36 pmPathetic….the producers have established a new standard for stupidity, why would I want to watch the rest of this series now? to watch the weak get handed free passes while the worthy are forced out by a random and meaningless “twist”…I understand, all survivor fans understand, that the producers want to introduce something new each season to surprise us and keep us interested, but this stunt has failed miserably, it hasn’t motivated me to continue following the show, it has only motivated me to stop watching it altogether….if there’s any justice in the world, the merge will happen this week, an 11 man tribe will form and James will walk away with the million dollars at the end, that is the only outcome that will counterbalance the most stupid move the Survivor producers have ever pulled off.
October 20th, 2007 at 5:31 pmDitto’s to what Laura and Frances wrote. Had CBS elected to send Aaron back to his origional tribe after he was voted out by the lazy non-achievers of the tribe he was sent to, James would not have to choose between continuing to do his best or just saying ‘the Hell with it, I’m a gonner anyway’. CBS seems to think it is OK to set the example of letting the fat and lazy pass judgment on those who try hard and work hard to better the welfare of their tribe. It’s no wonder none of the participants want to step up to the leadership positions that progressive socities naturally strive for.
October 20th, 2007 at 6:33 pmYou guys are only mad because you didn’t like Zhan Hu to start with (obvious James fans). So get over it. The producers created the twist, and the castaways were left trying to make the best of a bad situation. Although I felt bad for Aaron, I totally understand PG and Jaime’s decision to throw the challenge. It’s true that Zhan Hu could have easily won the challenge, but if Aaron and James had made it to the merge, the chances were greater that they would have remained more loyal to their old Fei Long alliances than any new ones they might have made on Zhan Hu. Same is true for Erik; he knew his chances for going to the merge were greater by his loyalty to his fellow Zhan Hu members than going along with the new Fei Long guys. Good strategy, Zhan Hu. Now the rest of you can go watch Ugly Betty and let the people who enjoy Survivor enjoy the rest of the season to see how it ends.
October 22nd, 2007 at 7:12 amThis is not Survivor!!!!! They give them way too much help surviving. Put them in Alaska for the next episode and see how things go. They put too many actor wannabe’s in the shows. They need to get back to basics!!!!!!
October 22nd, 2007 at 1:15 pmI just hope the next “twist” of Survivor China is for PG and Jamie. What a disappointment to witness Jamie and her stupid display of childishness. PG instigated the idea of throwing the challenge, drew Jamie into her plan, and both of them left Erik out of it. Erik, James, and Aaron could have easily given the little girls a dose of Survivor strategy at tribal council. Go James! Beat them at their own game, and show us fans the true meaning of Survival!!!
October 24th, 2007 at 7:01 amI agree with Lisa, people that say that what the girls (PG and Jaime) have done were unfair are obvious James’ fans. They did a great strategic move to save themselves in the merge, however they’ve put this move in dangerous because Jaime (who is a litle bit naïve) said in the tribal council to James, who’s still in the game, what they did. Now James, maybe, can have his revenge…
I also agree that the twist was unfair, but not what PG and Jaime did…
October 24th, 2007 at 12:21 pmOK - Did I miss something? Where did the new suits come from? I thought they were to compete and play with the clothes on their back, unless they win something in a challenge. Did the producers really think we wouldn’t notice? How could we not, the clothes went dingy to bright and beautiful
October 24th, 2007 at 7:58 pmThis is a delayed comment because I decided to stop watching survivor after the player swap move in week 5. I felt even more justified after talking to co-workers about the show and finding out that half of them agreed with my thoughts exactly. Like myself, they will stop watching survivor to make a point, that if this game has the feel of a football game that been decided by a referee’s bad call instead of the actual talent of the individuals, then you are going to lose viewers. There are alot of other shows on during this time slot.
Sincerely
